The Library holdings of over 60,000 books and periodicals include
some very rare and unique publications. Among them are old printed
books: Festal Triodion printed by Fiol in Krakow in 1491; the Gospel
from 1636 printed by the Stavropegion Bortherhood in Lviv; Anthologion
also printed in Lviv in 1643 and others. Among rare later publications
are: "Halytska Zoria" for the year 1848, "Tserkovna Hazeta" from
1856 which was published in Budapest . The library is rich in Shevchenkiana.
We are proud to own the first edition of the Kobzar from 1840 and
other singular editions of the Kobzar.
Beside books and periodicals the library also has archival collections both personal
and organizational. We have the individual archives of :Dr. J. Padoch, Dr. M.
Chubaty, Dr. W. Lencyk, Maria Klachko, Eva Piddubchyshyn, Yurii Starosolskyi
and others. We also have archives of organizations such as: Ukrainian Catholic
Youth League, Ukrainian Catholic War Relief Committee, "Providence" Assoc., branch
no.1, Ukrainian Millenium of Christianity celebration archives, and many more.
The Library also has a substantial photograph collection which mostly depicts
cultural, religious and political activities of Ukrainians in United States.
A very special part of the photograph collection are close to 4,000 glass negative
slides of the Sichovi Striltsi (Ukrainian Army of World War I).
The Library also has a collection of Ukrainian postage stamps, Ukrainian banknotes,
posters, concert programs, art exhibits and rare maps from the 17 and 18 centuries
which depict Ukrainian lands.
